The Congress has urged the Modi government to implement SC, ST, and OBC reservations in private higher educational institutions, following a Parliamentary Standing Committee report chaired by Digvijaya Singh. Citing Article 15(5) and low representation of marginalised groups, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh pressed for legislation, recalling the party’s 2024 Nyay Patra pledge. The decision now rests with the Centre.
