SC directs UP govt to regularise 6 daily-wage employees, slams decades of ‘exploitative ad-hocism’

The Supreme Court has ordered the Uttar Pradesh government to regularise six daily-wage Class-IV employees serving since the 1990s, slamming decades of “exploitative ad-hocism.” A Bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta held that financial constraints cannot justify denial of regularisation, directing creation of posts, arrears payment, recalculated pensions, and dues for retirees and deceased employees’ families.
