SC refuses to relax 3-year law practice rule for judicial services exam, says it will open ‘Pandora’s box’

The Supreme Court has refused to relax its May 20 verdict mandating a minimum three-year law practice for appearing in entry-level judicial services exams. A Madhya Pradesh judge had sought recognition of judicial officers’ experience, but the bench led by CJI B R Gavai said allowing it would “open Pandora’s box,” dismissing the plea.
